Lawn Patterning

S&B’s Patterning

How it works…’ patterning’ or ‘striping’ lawns is the result of properly bending grass blades so that light reflects differently. When looking at a patterned lawn, grass leaning away will look lighter and grass that is leaning towards will look darker. S&B’s lawn striping systems easily and safely ‘stripes’ the lawn by properly bending grass blades while mowing normally. With both vertical and horizontal capabilities, S&B’s lawn striping systems can easily create straight patterns as well as curves, circles, checkerboards, diamonds and more.

It is recommended to change patterns every few weeks. Additionally, some grass types will accentuate the patterning and striping effects. Cool season grass types typically pattern more easily versus warm season grass types. It is also important to have a well-maintained lawn in order to experience all of the benefits of S&B lawn striping systems. There are some areas in the country where lawn patterning is not recommended due to the grasses typical of that zone (refer to zone map).
